AAO Annual Meeting 2013

I just returned from The American Association of Orthodontists 113th Annual Session. This year it was held in Philadelphia. What a great event! The first day was spent attending Dr. Larry Andrew's 6 Elements International Meeting. Dr. Andrew's invented the "Straight Wire Appliance" and wrote "The Six Keys to Normal Occlusion." His concepts from the early 1970's continue to be taught in every orthodontic school in the country. His new concepts (6 Elements) are being taught and implemented worldwide!
The next three days were spent attending lectures and learning about the most current techniques/systems available today. To say orthodontics has gone high tech is an understatement. The new digital systems, 3D printers, CBCT (cone beam computed tomography) X-ray machines, etc. are the science fiction of yesteryear.
From the time tested principles of the past to the space age techniques of 2013, the meeting was exciting and thought provoking. What a great time to be involved with such a great profession. Crooked teeth don't have a chance! The smiles we create today far exceed the smiles of the past. Treatment is better and faster than ever before. If you have concerns about the appearance of your smile, give our office a call. The initial consultation is free. Come learn how orthodontics can help you create the beautiful smile you have always dreamed of...
